You Do Lyrics

Mouths are moving
People talking slowly
In my ears
Another year goes

You stood up gently
Turned around
To face me staring back
"I'll see you sometime soon"
If only I could see the way you do

The midnight air it blows
Between my fingertips
So cold
As I walk back inside

It's hard for me to understand
How you could die for me
When I fall short sometimes
If only I could see the way you do.

If only I could see the way
And if only I could see the way you do.

these lyrics relate me, alot, like how could Jesus die for me!? for a sinner like me? how? I don't get it... and i SO wish I could see the way Jesus does.

Yeah, they are a Christian. They're on the same label as Kids In The Way, Fireflight, & Pillar.

=] I love this song.

Does the label make them christian? Or do the lyrics actually talk about Jesus?

it's about two people that like eachother but aren't necessarily together yet. one party in what will be a relationship question what the other sees in them and wish to see how amazing they are in the other's eyes.

I'm so amazed at this song and I love it so much. I definitely see the Jesus thing, but it's easily about 2 people and one not realizing their beauty (not outward appearance-wise), too. Amazing, nonetheless.

I like to think that the song does have a more spiritual meaning but as some said he could be referring to a girl who has really strong feelings towards him or someone else who loves him. When you really love someone you will do anything to please them and you would put your life at risk to save them which is basically what he is saying this person would do, but he doesn't put as much into their relationship as this person does and he is trying to be more loving towards this person.

I don't know if I necessarily see it being religious. It's just not how I imagine the song. And I have never once considered it being religious. I don't know. I read through the comments and I don't really agree with those either. The way I see it, I think of. Time. And change. And seasons. And how fast things go by sometimes. And then I can imagine a close friend, who has drifted off, saying goodbye, and wanting to leave on good terms, to see them later, so to speak. Walking back inside, is just, leaving it be. Letting it just stay there. Trying to just live and let live. It's hard for me to understand how you could die for me when I fall short sometimes. I think of how when your friends are really good to you all of the time when sometimes, you're not the greatest friend back. When you forget to call back or forget to write notes back. Or when you forget to tell them you love them because you're too occupied with things in your head. If only I could see the way you do. Seeing someones perspective and thinking that it is easier than yours. But this is just life. It is how you interpret it. I guess.
