Q&A
City vs. Country Lyrics
Each month you lose your touch a little more.
In a silence no melody could erase.
The super sonic age really makes you look so great.
ok, ok.
The ground lanes in the air another day.
ok ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
ok , ok, ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
it seems like it was enough but it's not ever enough no,
it seems like it was enough but it's not ever enough ok,
the city life hushed her, she will erase.
in a comin' down to the subway.
and the light of the train flicker off across your face ok, ok,
it's hard to say it's hard to say
ok, ok, ok, it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
Ok, ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok it seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough no,
it seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough no.
It seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough ok, ok.
Rap your troubles up,
turn them into dust,
losing touch.
I know, I know.
Good friends come and go,
everyone knows.
Starts leaving you alone.
I know, i know.
In a silence no melody could erase.
The super sonic age really makes you look so great.
ok, ok.
The ground lanes in the air another day.
ok ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
ok , ok, ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
it seems like it was enough but it's not ever enough no,
it seems like it was enough but it's not ever enough ok,

ok, ok, ok, it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok.
Ok, ok it's not what you wanted me to say ok, ok it seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough no,
it seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough no.
It seems like it was enough, but, it's not ever enough ok, ok.

well this song is really about him going into the city and finding that he is "losing his touch" with his country side. There fore the name of the song "City vs. Country".
This song makes me think of someone who recently moved to the city, and is feeling disconnected from and out-of-sync with everything around them. On one hand, this person has lost some of their country habits, so they can't quite relate to country life anymore ("Each month you lose your touch a little more.")
On the other hand, the person hasn't quite gotten the hang of fast-paced city life. The person tries to fit in, yet still finds themselves on the outskirts ("it seems like it was enough, but it was never enough.")
I really love this song. Especially when the tune completely changes at the end and the beat evolves into something unexpected. The entire E.p is amazing from front to back.
