Nessun Dorma Lyrics
ITALIAN:
Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o, Principessa,
e noi dovrem, ahim?morir!)
Dilegua, o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle!
All'alba vincerr vincerincerr
ENGLISH:
No-one sleeps....no-one sleeps,
Even you, O Princess,
in your cold room,
Watch the stars
which tremble with love
and hope!
But my secret is locked within me,
no-one shall know my name!
No, no, I shall say it on your mouth
when the light breaks!
And my kiss will break the silence
that makes you mine!
(No-one shall know his name,
and we, alas, shall die!)
Vanish, o night!
Set, ye stars!
At dawn I shall win!

Wow I can't believe no one has commented on this song. I have no what it means but it is just so beautiful. Luciano Pavarotti has an amazing voice he is incredible. I love this song because it reminds me of when i was a child, because my dad would watch the 1994 concert that he recorded and it always kind of takes me back. That and it makes me feel kind of cultured you know listening to opera very fancy.
I would like to share the same view!

I remember coming back from visiting my aunt, with my parents. I was 12 and they turned on the TV and the 3 tenors concert was less than halfway. So I stayed tuned watching the rest. It was Pavarotti that stole me away that night. Nessun Dorma, the O Sole Mio ensemble, Torna a Surrento. Music so moving, singing that touch me. I became an opera lover since. I must say either you hate Opera, like many people do, or you get absolutely immersed. For me, the second still applies. Pavarotti will always be...

Nobody sleeps, nobody sleeps You too, oh Princess In your cold room Watch the stars Which tremble with love And (desire?) My mystery is closed away None will know my name, no, no I will say it on your mouth When the light shines And my kiss will melt the silence That makes you mine
None shall know his name Bummer, we'll die.
I do believe that speranza menas "hope." Not that my Italian is so good, but my Latin is.

The world has lost one of the most beautiful voices. This song gives me chills when ever I here him sing it. I'm so glad that we got to here him sing it at the Olympics in 2006, what an amazing performance.
Sorry, but there was no olympics in 2006.

Fantastic,sad song..
PositivePounders.org loves this song and a greater appreciation of it is now gained upon hearing the more diverse interpretation sung by the great Aretha Franklin (for the ailing Pavarotti - seen on Youtube . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6WW6TXPdPw)
The best is yet to come.
