Explain Lyrics

Oh there's a funny light
In the stars tonight
You and I will ride
All the factories
All the memories
Have changed
Will you work it out?
Will you see that I'm going no where else?
I dont know where you
Think and start again
But I, I know in all we've said
I finally know how it began
It's nothing that I can even explain
Til we begin tonight
Is it a righteous fight?
The sentiment's not right
Will you work it out?
Will you sell it all
To find me?
All the weapons are
Finally coming out
But now you see that I
Only wanted to
Have it out with you

Remember our love
Whoa but in the coldest light you see
You see what you want
And you break it all
Find it somewhere else
You say that our love
Can't be a baton in your part
You say that our love
You say that our love
Is only mat
Ooooh look above you now
There's a heavy cloud
Hanging over us
All the factories
All inflameries
Are closed
Do you wake at night
Wishing you'd relied on someone else?
I don't know what you
Think you find again
But I, I know in all we've said
I finally found where I'll begin
It's something I can't even explain

i'm pretty sure the lyrics are "you say that our love can't be a pattern in your palm"

"you say that our love is only mapped"

How are there no comments on such a beautiful song?

Mapped sounds about right.

No, it's matte, as in not glossy.

I think this song is about the breakdown of a relationship where she can't even remember why she was in it in the first place.

No, she knows... it's just something she can't explain :)

Love this song; 2nd favourite on the album next to The Albatross.

To begin with I have a few "corrections" (I say corrections but I don't know if I'm any closer to being right than you are)

"Oh there's a funny light In the stars tonight You and I were right"

This makes more sense because the whole song is pretty melancholy and it's like she's thinking back to the times when they would talk about things and make predictions about the future and now she's like, "Oh we were right, too bad now its all going to hell".

"I don't know where you Think you'll start again"

This kind of ties into how she keeps mentioning herself and how it began/where to begin, but it's him starting AGAIN.

"Do we begin tonight? Is it a righteous fight?"

This one just sounds to me like it fits better with the song because she sounds like she's asking a question, it doesn't really change the meaning of what is already above though.

"Remember our love Warm, but in the coldest light you see"

I think I hear this line this way (and it's my favourite one) because I think it SHOULD be written this way, even if it's not. It's like she's saying, our love was lovely and warm and amazing, but there was always this shadow hanging over it and making it cold and not as amazing.

"All the factories All infirmaries Are closed"

Infirmaries are like hospitals and she's saying they're all closed because earlier she talked about fighting and they are both in pain because things are falling apart but they have no where to go to fix themselves up and get better.

As for the line that everyone else can't hear either I have nothing new to add, I keep listening to it trying to find a word that makes sense and I can't think of one haha I keep hearing "our love is an amount" which would kind of suggest he was looking at their relationship as a clinical measurable thing but I don't know if that really fits into the rest of the song.

Anyway, correct me if you think any of these are wrong, I'm just saying what I'm hearing. This is my favourite Sarah Blasko song and I think her voice is absolutely gorgeous in this. I'd be really interested to hear other people's interpretations though :)
