Wow, Pillar is such an awesome band, it's too bad not more of their songs have been commented on...anyways...I think this song is about an addiction, perhaps drugs or alcohol or cutting or something.

This is just where he's talking about how addicting it is, he's craving it, he can't stop thinking about it, and he doesn't want anyone to interfere with it.

When the going gets tough, he turns to his habit/addiction for stress relief, even though he knows there's a better way.

He may see, hear, experience, etc., something "triggering" and his automatic reaction is this habit of his, no matter how small or trivial this "stimulant" is...
