His fear is himself. In the end we are our worst enemies. Worst enemies always try to kill you, and we die one day. He tries to save him from himself somehow but fails, ending in a tragedy. So many people in so many places have made his same mistakes, and how he shouldn't fear anything because he has nothing to fear in his eyes. He wishes to remove himself and become something higher then human.
Sad. It looks like the singer for this band does not understand that saving yourself is not the point of Christianity....
