home
is this my home
been starting over
bathe in the water
time
time after time
i'm feeling so sorry
i run out of words to say
relieved
i'm so relieved
the table are turning
don't sacrifice this feeling
goals
there are no goals
there is no order
paid for in laughter

I love being the first to comment on this song. The only reason I've heard this song is because it is now the opening music for the HBO series "Big Love", replacing "Wouldn't it be nice?"
I like this song very much and I think it is an excellent choice for "Big Love". The series portrays how difficult it can be for a polygamist family in Utah.
However, you don't have to be like the family in "Big Love" to experience some of the same difficulties. Examples might include blended families ("been starting over"), temptations ("don't sacrifice this feeling"), conflict on how the household should be run ("there is no order"), balancing work and home life ("is this my home"), a culture of blaming ("tables are turning"), and motivation ("there are no goals").
I would like to think that "bathe in the water" and "paid for in laughter" are positive messages in this song, although that is only one possible interpretation, of course.
"Bathe in the water" could mean how --when families are at our best-- we must metaphorically wash each other with forgiveness, and be able to forgive ourselves.
Once life has added some time and perspective, the growth (and sometimes the accompanying pain) are made easier by looking back and laughing at ourselves ("paid for in laughter").
Little correction -- the original theme was the Beach Boys song "God Only Knows," not "Wouldn't It Be Nice." But that's how I know this song, too, from Big Love. I like your interpretation, txnuke1201.
