It seems like a song regarding ex-lovers to me. I'm going by the lyrics found in the booklet:

1st verse: The "earth will see our lives go blank tonight" makes me think of a relationship (the earth) coming to an end which leads to the two people involved having their "lives go blank". Then the ties between the people will be damaged badly (earth rotting away). The narrator taunts the other person to end the relationship faster just by saying "go blink your eyes" as if it will end in an instant.

2nd verse: Harder for me to really to try to intepret. I keep thinking that by mentioning the earth "disguised a way" and not to blink later is saying that they've faked the relationship at times. Facade. But he later mentions their lives going blank so the relationship is still doomed to fail.

Chorus: I think he doesn't necessarily mean "snakes" to be a negative term like snakes normally would symbolize. Instead, I think by saying that he wishes these "snakes" were her arms, it's something that was positive in the relationship. The truly good times that would bind and constrict him like a snake would.

Then by saying he wishes she'd make up her mind, the other partner is showing that during the whole time she hasn't been 100% in the relationship leading up to the point where the relationship "earth" will rot away.

' i wish these snakes were your arms' maybe he means i wish all this bad shit that is consuming me and taking control of my life was really his lover instead of something negative like depressio, drugs, ect. he wishes he could have a woman to hold on to instead of this demon that only makes things worse.

the song speaks about how we (our society) follow blind ambitions that have stained and dare i say charred the earth with its repercussions. however the earth will show us how blind and careless we have been with her, by showing us and thus saving our eyes from darkness.... the snakes embody the venomous actions done by human beings such as deforestation, war, violence, hate, apathy ect. however these characteristics constitute the very nature of what being human is all about, therefore, they are irrevocably inherent to our species, such as our arms: dispensable yet at the same time essentially necessary.....

yeah, this band is pretty legit. I cant wait for all their new stuff and hope that Chi gets better.

i love this song, what hits me the most is "i really wish these snakes were your arms". snakes are sometimes referenced to the devil, hence why i believe that it means he wishses all the bad things in his life were all her. wanting her to be his, wishing that she would think the same way.

Its from the new album Saturday Night Wrist which already leaked. Although I think the song is actually called Earth.

On the official deftones site this song is noted as Kimdracula, on all the internetshops it's noted as Earth... very strange.

Lyrics are wrong btw, check lyrics for earth.
