Worms in the Wind

part of this song is missing like the last two verses, at least in the version i have of this song, but i cant really make out what is being sang. i like this one though.

In the version at San Diego, CA - Terrastock II Festival, I'm pretty sure it goes like this:

And the worms in the wind are beginning to blow, Baby brother gives in, And we watch as he goes, Through a hole in the night, That's as wide(white?) as a sheet, As all the beautiful people go floating up over the street.

By the way, I think those lines are the most magnificent things ever written.

At the Crocodile Cafe in Seattle he said before the song "If the earth lost its gravity, since we're heavier creatures, at least at the first millisecond, the first thing that would happen would be that the worms would start blowing around." He sang 'baby brother' here, too.

the end of the world

On a live recording I have, before Song Against Sex I think, Jeff begins to sing what I think is part of this song. It went "And we once had a home that was hurling through space..." and then he says "And then the gravity that held all of our houses in place? Well, not anymore. Anyway, I think this is a pretty little song about the end of the world.

"And the worms in the wind are beginning to blow, cause the worms in the wind when the world loses all it's gravity. Well, in my head, that is what would happen in the little ball that you turn upside down, and when you bring it back up is all that snow in the santa clause and shit..."

I think it has to do with a snow globe and the end of the word

For a 45 second song it holds alot of imagination. It means that there is some sort of black hole or some kind of vaccuum sucking everything on earth into it...But, in a slow, peaceful, calm way.
