I think this is a tune about a man who always avowed that he was a confirmed bachelor chasing drug addicted young girls meets a woman on a train, falls (to his surprise) in love with her, can't stop thinking about her, and has an urge to make her feel(gasp!)cared for and ends up taking her as his -- wait for it -- bride(friend for life, life and after)

No girl on pills in limbo, she's a woman on a train = the man in the song was pursuing drug addicted teenage girls who were between childhood and adulthood -- could be emotional adolescents rathet than chronological ones -- but this woman he met on the train is already an adult.
