She's Not You Lyrics
Her hair is soft and her eyes,
Are, oh, so blue,
She’s all the things a girl should be,
But she’s not you,
She knows just how to make,
Me laugh when I feel blue,
She’s everything a man could want,
But she’s not you.
And when we’re dancing,
It almost feels the same,
I’ve got to stop myself,
From whispering your name,
She even kisses me,
Like you used to do,
And it’s just breaking my heart,
Cause she’s not you.
Are, oh, so blue,
She’s all the things a girl should be,
But she’s not you,
She knows just how to make,
Me laugh when I feel blue,
She’s everything a man could want,
But she’s not you.
And when we’re dancing,
It almost feels the same,
I’ve got to stop myself,
From whispering your name,
She even kisses me,
Like you used to do,
And it’s just breaking my heart,
Cause she’s not you.

U have GOT to be kidding me! This little ditty has no comments??? OK, it's obviously about some dud that is with one female while thinking about another. Scummy lyrics, but I still love Elvis. Have NEVER understood players, although I do believe they usually end up alone. And rightfully so. Play on...
How could Elvis touch this song. It's the anthem of a real loser. Combine it with This Charming Man by the Smiths and Habit by Marine Mena and you have some dude that has to lie to get a woman...and even then he can't hold onto her. He's always left behind :D Elvis could sing and he could definitely move, but what garbage...

LOL...she's a passing ship...one of many yearly who's good for the ego and for going down on a small penis. And no, she's not the real thing. She's second prize due to cowardness. It's a GREAT song. Makes me tingle each time I hear it. Just know that when I am with someone that way, I won't be playing it!
Wow. I just read where Elvis was born in 1935. Seems hard to believe, but I suppose only because he appeared larger than life and his music (and movies) are still with us everywhere. Cool...I love trivia.
I heard this song on the radio this morning. To me the song's more about the singer being exactly where he needs to be. He just needs to admit that it's where he belongs; where's he's happiest, most comfortable; and feels he has the most opportunity to live the life he wishes to live. There's a freedom and a loss of dread that comes with acceptance of any kind.
I used to view it as a very negative song, but no longer. It's not the literal meaning that's important. Kind of have to read between the lines on this one.
Anxious to see another Elvis movie...very sappy, but cutsie and upbeat. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside, and that's a good feeling regardless if the movie won't win any awards.
