Under Wraps Lyrics

Keep it quiet -- (Go slow.)
Circulate. Need to know.
Stamp the date upon your file --
masquerade, but well worth while.

Wrapped in the warmth of you --
wrapped up in your smile.
Wrapped in the folds of your attention.

Wear an air -- (keep mum)
of casual indifference.
Careful how you go
about your usual business.

Wrapped in daydreams of you --
wrapped up by your eyes.
Wrapped in the folds of your attention.
Under Wraps! I've got you under wraps.

Tell you when -- (not yet)
soon the great unveiling.
Bless my boots! Upon my soul!
Secrecy, it is my failing.

Wrapped in your summer night --
wrapped in your Autumn leaves.
Wrapped in the Winter of your sleeping

Despite the criticism this album often gets, I love it. (I can find something good in every piece Ian Anderson has done. An incredible artist!)

The album, Under Wraps, came out at a time when many bands were experimenting with the new cutting-edge technology of electronic music, synthesizers, drum machines, production effects, etc.

Under Wraps, the song, comes across to me as a double entendre about love affairs and spy games, where trust is of utmost importance, yet is not always available as people and countries move to gain what they desire.

The song is a prelude to the album's themes of romance, allegiance, loyalty, espionage, terrorism, political subversion and spy games. While the Cold War (USSR vs. the World) was the contemporary setting for these songs, the world has never had a shortage of such maneuvers and activities.

The song is about a spy who falls for the beautiful enemy spy and spills all his country's secrets.

It should be noted that in "Under Wraps #2" the first version of the corus is used through the entire song.

Worst Jethro Tull album. This album is just bad, and that's all there is to it.
