Bright Young Thing Lyrics

I wander, wandering all around

This big place I live

She was scared to go outside

Where it once felt so nice to me

Picked up a smoke, then you drag a little

I wanna choke so you won't belittle

Everyone knows that she'll do it over

And over and over and over again

You're pretty, won't you come play with me?

This time I'll be nice

You can't trust what I say to you

I know they're all lies, do you?

And if you ever had to
I would be going strong
What in the world was happening?
Dear, can I be wrong?

Picked up a smoke, then you drag a little
I wanna choke so you won't belittle
Everyone knows that she'll do it over
And over and over and over again

The end reminds me of Soma.

I absolutely love what Albert has done, he's showing that there's more to him than playing in The Strokes, but we all love him for that. This song is great, it's got a great drum beat, and it just sounds a beautiful form on quirky when all the instruments come together. Go Albert.

That comment made me sound as though I can't write in english. The last sentence SHOULD say: "... it's got a great drum beat, and it just sounds like a beautiful kind of quirky when all the instruments come together."

The lyrics printed here are actually to the song: "Call an Ambulance" "Bright Young Thing" is another song on the album. Perhaps the link is off or something.

Love the line:

You can't trust what I say to you I know they're all lies Do you

does it therefore imply a double negative, and he is lying about only telling lies?

no, isn't it itunes who screwed up again? "call an amublance" is the one with 'you were only wanting to be friends', track 7, the album cover says so right?

ADORE this song. especially the instrumental part at the end! so happy and carefree

'so happy and carefree'

An excellent way of summing up Yours To Keep. This is such beautful music, the kind that gets stuck in your head, replaying over and over again...

i know i'm so late with this but i just have to say that i always replay the instrumentals at the end like 5 times. the acoustics and the cute piano just remind me of everything that makes life so simple and sweet. its too adorable
