This song is about the story Norse myth where Hermod is sent by Odin to retriever Baldr from Hel. When he finally gets there, Hel tells Hermod that he will only release Baldr back to the world of the living if the entire world weeps for him.
Note that when Hel says "whole world" she means everything, living and dead.
Yes. The twist is that Loke, who killed Balder indirectly, doesn't weep for Balder and he stays dead. The gods do a whole mess of shit to Loke after that which is probably what part 2 will be about. Go read the Eddas to find out what I'm too lazy to type it >
GREAT song, GREAT story, GREAT melody...funny story, me and a group of friends got together for a while and wrote some music just before this album dropped and we wrote almost the exact same intro. but this is one of my favorite songs lyrically off the album. cant wait for the new album WOOT

That's mostly correct.
The goddess Frigg asks who wishes to win her favor, after Baldr's brother Hodr (blind god) is tricked into killing Baldr by Loke.
Okay, so this song tells a part of the story in which Baldr gets killed. The song title has "...Loki's treachery", because Loki himself has arranged Baldr's death, and does succeed in this, and he kills him indirectly, (He fools Baldr's blind half-brother somehow to kill him). The gods mourn Baldr's death, for he was loved by all, and they decide to send Hermod to Hel (ruler of the world of the dead), to get him back. Note: Hel is Loki's daughter. So, when he gets there, Hel agrees to give him his life back on one condition, that is; the whole world shall weep for his death. -SPOILER ALERT- Now in the second part, the world does indeed weep for Baldr, except for one woman, named Töck. Now, it is suspected that Loki has took the form of this woman (Töck), so he messes up Baldr's resurrection. And so [s]he does, he refuses to weep, and precludes the revival.

Soo powerful... My favorite part of the song.
However, this is just my opinion on the part that comes after it (you can thumbs me down, I don't care): Anyone else agrees that they shouldn't have changed the guitar riff? Personally, I would have stayed with the same riff and I would have faded the song out, instead.
But eh, this is a trully awesome song.
