Asator Lyrics
Thunder rolls across the plains
Thor rides in puring rain
He rides to Jotunheim to fight
Lightning strikes when Mjölner bites
Fire!
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Fire!
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Lightning cracks the blackened sky
Hear the thunder chariot ride
All brave men with hearts of war
Ride the path of mighty Thor
Son of thunder, lightning strikes, son of thunder
Son of thunder, Thor arise, son of thunder
Son of Oden
Thunder god
Master of war
Asator
Fire!
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Fire!
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Thor rides in puring rain
He rides to Jotunheim to fight
Lightning strikes when Mjölner bites
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Fire!
Burning in his eyes
Fire!
His rage is pure, see the lightning strike
Hear the thunder chariot ride
All brave men with hearts of war
Ride the path of mighty Thor

Excellent song. One of the things about Amon Amarth's music is that, when you know the lyrics, it's just so much better.
So.. Asator is Thor? Is that an alternate spelling?
@ heartbeats_xxx:
Yes, it refers to the umbrella term for the Pagan gods, the "Æsir". Is is quite common to call a god Asa-something, as for example Asator instead of Thor.
I was wondering about the asator thing too, thanks flag great song, by the way, does anyone get the same rush i get when they hear the roar before son of oden?
Asator should be pronouncec Åsator, (aw-sah-toor), as he does in the song, but it can be difficult to make out.
ZionsVillageIdiot: I do! It's like a sudden rush of power, an will unbeatable, an unstoppable desire to act, right now, right there .. usually ends up in a headband
Definitely about Thor, the thundergod. In norse mythology there are many stories about him fighting giants. That's what is meant by going to Jotunheim(land of the giants) to fight.
zion, dude, that scream over that riff is AWESOME!!!! always a blast when you got 4 guys in a car who believe they are vikings singing along with this song...we've gotten some weird looks haha
Asator is Thor, its just another name for him.
Thor's name in swedish is "Tor", and all the gods in Norse mythology were commonly known as "Asar". Basically, its just adding that before his name.
Excellent song. Viking Metal for the win. Though, I'm pretty sure some of those lyrics are wrong.
It should be
"Fire! His hate is pure, see the lightning strike!"
Not rage.
