It's Not That Simple Lyrics

You should've written me a letter
Instead of saying what you say
It could've turned out so much better
And now your words play inside my head
I thought that I was nothing mean
By setting you free
It seems the memories are dead
And now I'm out of my head
It's not how I planned it

You should be loving me
You should be holding me
Why do you choose
To turn yourself loose
Every word, means to me
Yet you try desperately
Turning away
Baby, it's not that simple

For all the nights I lie here waiting
Morning finds me by myself
All you can say that I'm creating
My own sad match, my own hell
For all the loneliness I feel
I still want you here with me
When all the screaming is through
I've always been left with you
It's not how I planned it

You should be loving me
You should be holding me
Why do you choose
To turn yourself loose
Every word, means to me
Yet you try desperately
Turning away
Baby, it's not that simple

repeat 2x

I'm surprised this song is comment-less.

I think this song is about a guy, who planned something for his girlfriend, in progress , but she then wishes to break up all of a sudden.

All mixed up, he thens let's her go, doesn't want to look mean or something similiar.

He planned it to perfection, only to be shattered by her wanting to break up.

He keeps wanting her, feeling lonely and having nightmares. It repeats on from there.

The song is touching. Too bad the lyrics ain't an accompaniment to the feeling.

All in all, I think it's a good song.

This song is actually better in Russian & actually makes more sense than the English version. I find Dima's English material needs improving.

i don't really agree with the above commenter. judging by the genre, yes, it was probably meant to be a love song but i find it kind of creepy.

old story. boy finds girl. boy falls in love with girl. girl leaves boy- boy is heartbroken. except the pain of losing someone you love sounds more like a frustration of losing a possession. "we were supposed to be together forever. you weren't supposed to leave me. you were MINE."

not the best composed lyrics, but the underlying tone is certainly interesting.
