Bruno Is Orange Lyrics
Bruno, what did you tell that man?
He's a clever man, did you know?
I bet he works for the goverment.
And I know you know I know
I can't control thoughts of things I needed
I believe everybody needs some encouragement.
I think it's real unfair
That you should put him there.
All we did is kiss
On my grave, I swear
Where did you find his shoes?
A lock of my hair?
All we did is kiss
On my grave, I swear
Some dull morning we were wearing sheets
And he whispered, "I think that they know better than me."
See this hand that pushed you into the creek?
I'm sorry, 'was just fun, and you were laughing
We were running towards the street
And I wrote my name into the fresh painted yellow line
And you wrote your name right there next to mine.
We had to dodge a truck
he almost hit a bug
I think we had some luck
and for two bucks
we bought some bread
and fed the grey geese
and the ducks.
everyone will come
everyone will yell
i'd thank you just the same
if you didn't tell
my mother says that i will surely go to hell.
please be a good man
please say you won't tell
Did you know that that boy is an armed man?
bearing flowers into hands
Very able to hold me down
(and love me more than anyone)
Bruno, what happened to your good sense?
I broke down, that man's good
I bet he works for the goverment
Did you hear about that mother?
Broke her daughter's legs in two
And said, "It's too dangerous out there to walk, so i had to save you."
I think it's real unfair
That you should put him there.
All we did is kiss
On my grave, I swear
Where did you find his shoes?
A lock of my hair?
All we did is kiss
On my grave, I swear
everyone will come
everyone will yell
i'd thank you just the same

Bruno, did you know that the greeks in morning would eat oranges?
They were firm believers in fruit-curing fevers
And I agree
See, they believe that an orange warms the stomach.

I tried my best. I fucking love this song. I'm seeing her October 4th, so I'm pumped. Yep.
better than i could have done! do you have any more of the lyrics? i can't find them anywhere. ): i love her.
they're amazing. just saw her at the october 4th show. I'm quite in love, and bought the CD. all the lyrics were in it, I'll get around to submitting one of these days.
"We had to dodge a truck he almost hit a bug I think we had some luck"
I think it should be "buck" as in a deer.
I dont know if any of Frances' songs have any meanings other then to " make you smile or sigh" but theyre good anyway :D
I have no idea what this song is about, but it is so mesmerizing.
I think that this is about the loss of a woman's virginity (her insistence that "All we did is kiss/ On my grave, I swear," implying that more happened), possibly against her will ("Very able to hold me down"), & her fear of people finding out/fear of being judged (cue: her paranoia about this random man seeming to know something, so she asks Bruno if he let slip what happened)
*fear of being found out & judged, pretty much this entire stanza:everyone will come "everyone will yell i'd thank you just the same if you didn't tell my mother says that i will surely go to hell. please be a good man please say you won't tell"
basically, just the stress young women go through trying to please everybody (i.e. overbearing mothers, judgmental society, snooping friends) while uncovering, figuring out, & attempting to manage their own sexuality & sexual desires.

I thought this song was about a young girl having an affair with an older man.
I thought maybe she was caught by a man (maybe a police officer) and she's trying to explain to him what he saw by making excuses and saying "all we did was kiss, on my grave I swear" "my mother says that I will surely go to hell" (for premarital sex) "please say you won't tell"
and "i think it's real unfair that you should put him there" is why I thought maybe he was a police officer, maybe he arrested him or something
Bruno was the man she was having an affair with and the song is called "bruno is orange" because he made her feel better or whole.
I'm not sure if it's the proper interpretation but it makes sense to me c:
