i can kinda relate to this song cause i've been in those shoes. to really care about someone, but they want something else, so they turn around and walk away, and your left there trying to make them stay and hoping one day they come back

i really relate to the lines "so i might of made a few mistakes but that was back when you would smile, and we would go everywhere but ain't been there in awhile" because it was my mistakes that pushed her away and suddenly everything we used to do together was gone, but through it all you still them.

chaotic mess, I know exactly what you mean, I am in basically the exact same situation and it kills. And this song is amazing.

i love this song. daniel's piano playing is so pretty. it's a song about being left behind. not really because anything you've really done, sure you might've made a few mistakes but it was during happy times so they didn't seem so big, but because they're in the search of something else. in this case, i think the woman he's singing about left for a big city, hence the "cause there's a thousand lights that will make you feel brand new". really great lyrics, i think this song could be really big if it got enough play. but because it isn't, it feels more personal and has more depth to it.. at least to me.

this song is so pretty. but can someone explain the whole Babylon idea to me?

Babylon is the ancient city known for its wealth and luxury. Famous for "The Hanging Gardens" which were one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.

According to the Bible, Babylon was built by Nimrod, and was also this city that started many false religions of the world. It became such an advancement of human achievement that it became devoid of God.

How all this fits with the song... I don't really know. Its so bizarre how he uses it. I'd have to do logic gymnastics to make it fit.... e.g.

When they're alone together, they become like a wonder of the world, successful, wealthy in spirit. Or perhaps a return to the peak/achievement of their relationship, as opposed to getting progressively distant and worse.

(.... but that's just my wild guess.)
