O'Child Lyrics
I want to come closer
But you are so distant
Lately your thoughts are so far
And I want to show you all that you're missing
I'll meet you right where you are
Oh love, I've always known you
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
Say that you need me
I know what you're feeling
You cannot do this alone
I gave my word and I gave you my life
So you'll never be on your own
Oh love, I've always known you
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
Is this what you wanted?
Is this what you needed?
(You're waiting for this life to be what you've been waiting for...)
Oh love, I've always known you
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
Oh love, I've always known you
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh child, I'm only asking you for your life
But you are so distant
Lately your thoughts are so far
And I want to show you all that you're missing
I'll meet you right where you are
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
I know what you're feeling
You cannot do this alone
I gave my word and I gave you my life
So you'll never be on your own
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
Is this what you needed?
(You're waiting for this life to be what you've been waiting for...)
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh love, I'm only asking you for your life
Oh love, I've always known you
Oh love, you've always been mine
Oh child, I'm only asking you for your life

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
This song is BEAUTIFUL.
yeah my sis is going to teach it to me on the guitar!!!
can she send me the tabs? my email is utfan8k6@zoomtown.com. I would really appreciate it. I figured out a little bit of it but it's too hard to hear. I wish these guys did more acoustic stuff cuz they are really good at it.
well actually, I searched ALL over the internet, and I can find it! but, I'll ask Josh when I see him in (Maybe) May and I'll send 'em to you then but actually ALOT of their songs are accustic, you just have to listen REALLY hard, it's more hearable with headphones!
This song is so emotional, just speaks right to the heart
Great song. Anyone know what it means?
I think it's supposed to be God coming to someone who has fallen away from him..."I gave you my word and I gave you my life"...I think the meaning is pretty obvious here. The "oh child" is a reference to people being "children of God." Good song.
In the first verse the song is being sung to us by Heavenly Father or Jesus Christ. He’s saying that our thoughts are astray and that our life isn’t on track to how it should be. He says that he knows the way and He wants to show us. He says that there is so much that we are missing out on in this life. The chorus is saying that we are his children. He addresses us “O’Love” and goes on to say that we are his and that all he asks for is this life. I interpret this as that we have this moment which is life to prove our love and devotion and how serious we are about living with him again. He knows the way for us to be happy and all we need to do is to follow him. The second verse is about our trials in this life. He says that He knows what we are feeling and going through in this life, but we can’t go through those trials and tribulations alone. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can give us that strength to get through those hard times. The last line says that he gave his life so that we wouldn’t be on our own. That’s a really powerful and pretty cool line of a song. The last verse is asking if this is what we want our life to be. Is this what we need to be happy or is there more. The answer is always that there is more. The very last chorus of the song it says “O’Child” instead of “O’Love” which shows whose perspective the song is being sung from.
Am I the only one who thinks that this could be a perfect wedding song? I know that's not how it's written, but...
