OH MY GOSH I'VE NEVER BEEN THE FIRST PERSON TO COMMENT A SONG BEFORE!!!! ok, i'll just calm myself... try and be cool, not a make a big deal about it... oh yes this is a great song by the way, although to be honest i can't really analyse what it means.... so this was completely pointless really. But oh well, i don't see anyone else commenting it.
i like how they made a reference to "nothing gold can stay" and saying that they do have something golden and everyone keeps saying it won't last b/c well, nothing gold can stay. he believes that it will last, though, and the cliche saying is completely wrong. that's what i think, i don't know if they did that on purpose or not, but i think it's awesome.
How this song didn't make the final cut is beyond me, I love it. It's so anthemic (but in a knowing way, as the first verse illustrates). This band has a track record of putting out bonus tracks that are better than some of the album tracks (Forget Everything from Sticks And Stones, which this song is actually pretty similar to). Anyway, I love it to death, and I love shesamaverick's interpretation as well!
it's not hard to translate. but here's my input. it's about a couple that loves each other, hence they got something "golden" meaning it is different than any other. everyone think they won't last but they don't know how they feel about each other.
