Johnny Viola Lyrics
If you could ring the sky like a bell
Even such a sound would never suffice
If you could bang the world like a drum
It would only show it was hollow inside
And your love, it slips behind a little cloud
And your eyes are veiled
Is there a medical term for a heart that's been removed?
If you could wring the hours and the days
Of all their lives, I think you would find
That the lovely faces crash like a wave
Upon a shore so frozen and white
And as love, it slips behind that little cloud
The snow is like a feathery down
When your heart has been removed
And as love departs your life
Like silvery birds that leave the coast
Your eyes are as wild and lifeless as the moon
Even such a sound would never suffice
If you could bang the world like a drum
It would only show it was hollow inside
And your eyes are veiled
Is there a medical term for a heart that's been removed?
Of all their lives, I think you would find
That the lovely faces crash like a wave
Upon a shore so frozen and white
The snow is like a feathery down
When your heart has been removed
Like silvery birds that leave the coast
Your eyes are as wild and lifeless as the moon

this song hits me beautifully.
this song hits me beautifully.
To me...it's about a person who's letting love slip by willingly. They don't live, they just go through life passively, ignoring love, pushing it away, or just hiding their feelings. Lifeless, heartless...
I know/knew a person like that...
Palo Santo is an amazing record, but this is probably one of the standout tracks. Beautiful music...
WoW this sounds to me like it could be about people on strong anti-depressants. I've been on paxil and all kinds of SSRI's like it my whole life. They take away your emotion and ability to really feel and even love. So this song is kinda sad to me because it reminds me what the medications have done :(
