12 Hundred Lyrics

Is there really anyone there
Fall on deaf ears all of my prayers

The mother of nothing
The mother of sin
The father of decadence within us
A brother of suffering inside

Why can't you look at me now?
I hope you like what you've done to me
Drown in your misery

We need something new you made up
The more you give up it's never enough
Or this could be the day we rise

Uneased by the thought of me
Only through your suffering
Will you learn to forget

I wonder why
Who will survive
When we try
With their life

Consider the opening to this song. It's a notification that he has reached out to voice himself, and found nothing in correspondance. The next set of lyrics describes what you might call a Disian or netherworld type references different embodiments of Satan.

Now, most people like to jump the gun here and say, "Ooh, they're blasting at religion!" or "OMG, they're Satanic!" Not the case. It's a mere statement of feeling hollow and empty inside. Filled only by that abyss or evil that remains in "nothingness"

This was obviously done by malicious intent of another, whether it was a passive or agressive attack on persona, it destroyed what was left. Leaving them with nothing to live for, and prematurely dead. Now all they seek is repayment to all living, and to test them to be worthy to live.

If you haven't caught on by now, watch the Saw trilogy. It's got a similar theme, they're just more upset about the case than the character "Jigsaw" is.

ferry you could be right, but I couldn't find anything to link the number 1200 to religion then I came across something interesting, the number 12 hundred appears in comparison to war in numerous history sites. Look at what the song is saying and you see that like a lot of songs that are vaguely about religion i has a lot of symbolism for warfare and violence also.

ahh the things we look up when were still up at 5 in the morning

@ferry_515 I found 12 alone can represent perfection of government or order an can stand for the divine

Like most of the songs on the new album, the music is good but the lyrics took a huge hit with J Mann's absence.

mushroomhead has always had a great cult following of listeners and to me it honestly seems like hes calling for revolution amongst the public masses, and not some crazy radical thing he wants something new "i hope you like you like what you done to me, drown in your misery" saying everything is dull and the mundane will drown the fiber of your being

also the new singer is amazing he almost sounds like the old one and does justice to everything mushroohead stands for

lyrics are wrong in a few places, but still pretty good...

"I hope you like what you've done to me Uneased by the thought of me Only through your suffering Will you learn to forget Will you learn to forgive What you've done to me"

then this one is wrong
