Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas Lyrics
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be light
From now on
Our troubles will be out of sight
So have yourself a merry little Chrismas night
Here as in olden days
Happy golden days of yours
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Through the years
We all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now
Here as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful that are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Make the Yule-tide gay
From now on
Our troubles will be miles away
So have yourself a merry little christmas now
Let your heart be light
From now on
Our troubles will be out of sight
So have yourself a merry little Chrismas night
Happy golden days of yours
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
We all will be together
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself a merry little Christmas now
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful that are dear to us
Gather near to us once more
Make the Yule-tide gay
From now on
Our troubles will be miles away
So have yourself a merry little christmas now

IM not too sure about this song but listening to it I really get a Christmasy feel. Its just so mellow
i really need to point out that conor didn't write this song. i can't remember who wrote it, but it was before he was born.
it was first heard in the movie "Meet Me in St. Louis," sung by Judy Garland, her version is the most well known, and just about everyone has done a remake.
With that said, i think the song means have a merrry christmas, don't worry about what's happening before and after, just let your heart be light. also, in the movie, it is sung to a little girl on christmas eve right before the whole family is moving to new york, which the family isn't really happy about.
the way he sings this is so sad/sweet.
conor's version of this song is lovely, i don't know who he's singing with, but he turns it into such a lonely song
I think its Orenda Fink, from Azure ray. But I'm not positive. ;D

i always cry when i listen to this song.
btw, it's on the movie imaginary heroes :)
Makes me cry too, but then so does the theme to lazytown, so maybe I'm just odd...
The fuck? There are seriously people who think Conor Oberst wrote this song?
It's one of the most popular Christmas songs ever, seriously.
It's a little lonely, but at the same time very warm and sweet. Is he trying to tell us you've to make it a merry little Christmas for youself, (even) when no one else is going to make it a day of happiness? Or is he telling that Christmas makes all troubles far away and warm our hearts, even in times that aren't warm at all?
