See The Lights Lyrics

Summer's gone winter's in your eyes
I can feel the thunder storms inside
I wake every morning and the cold winds cover me
All I've got's a ghost of what could be

If you can see the lights shine in front of me
If you can see the lights shout out where you'll be

I'm in a broken dream I stare out into space
You know I called you up 'cause nothing takes your place
I've got a heart of stone and it's sinking deep inside
I want to tell you love I'm too proud to cry

If you can see the lights shine in front of me
If you can see the lights shout out where you'll be
Summer's gone and I can't tell you lies
Oh forgive me love I'm too proud to cry

If you can see the lights shine in front of me
If you can see the lights shout out where you'll be
Summer's gone and I can't tell you lies
Forgive me love I'm too proud to cry
Too proud to cry

Too proud to cry

Too proud to cry

I think it deals with a summer love. It reminds me of a girlfriend I had when I was 17, we used to meet on summertime during a few years, as we lived quite far away from each other, and we used to sing it together when summer was ending.

This track somehow manages to capture the sound of summer, awesome production! I believe this track was written about the end of a relationship, from what I can gather the man in the relationship has problems expressing how he truly feels, and the woman has fallen out of love with him, it seems he is scared of saying how he truly feels, but believes it is already too late. You never appreciate what you've got until it's gone.

Yes it is about a broken relationship All the album was written after Jim separated with Chrissie Beautiful song about what happened like « banging on the door » The feelings in both song are so true when that happens Amazing writing from Jim and guitar from Charles
