My Secret Window Lyrics
This is it
The final place to falter
To see the destination
To be the one
Who makes the final call
We rise to fall
This is where
We clear the path to freedom
To gain the new horizon
And bleed onto the road
We lost before
So rise to
Save me
My miracle
To escape the way we feel
We bleed and Rush
To say goodbye
Fly through
My window to
Free what's left behind
We fall and rise to feel alive
Save me my miracle
Take my doubts away and
Fly through my window
I'll Rise and fall through you
And so we speak
To feel a little less neglected
To reach the final chapter
And understand
The answers that you hide
We fall but rise
To build the final structure
And fight the desperation
We'll meet the ones
We had to leave behind
So rise my friend to...
The final place to falter
To see the destination
To be the one
Who makes the final call
We rise to fall
This is where
We clear the path to freedom
To gain the new horizon
And bleed onto the road
We lost before
So rise to
My miracle
To escape the way we feel
We bleed and Rush
To say goodbye
Fly through
My window to
Free what's left behind
We fall and rise to feel alive
Take my doubts away and
Fly through my window
I'll Rise and fall through you
To feel a little less neglected
To reach the final chapter
And understand
The answers that you hide
We fall but rise
To build the final structure
And fight the desperation
We'll meet the ones
We had to leave behind
So rise my friend to...

I think this song is about hidden feelings, and how the twist's in life make you feel alive.
Mercenary rocks!
There's obviously a ending of life theme here... "To build the final structure And fight the desperation We'll meet the ones We had to leave behind So rise my friend to... " It seems to be about the rise and fall of life, we work hard during our lives to try and be happy, but eventually everything will work out in the end.
To me, this song is about contemplating suicide and looking for a sign or permission to do it.
"To see the destination, to be the one who makes the final call" - to seek the end-of-life/afterlife, and be the one who makes the decision when that happens.
"To escape the way we feel we bleed and rush to say goodbye" - thats pretty obvious.
"Save me, my miracle, take my doubts away and fly through my window I'll rise and fall through you" - to me it sounds like asking God (or similar) for a sign that its okay to do it. Saving him by letting him know it's okay to end his life or giving him the strength to actually do it. A sort of reverse selling your soul - like I'll believe in you or commit to you (rise and fall through you) if you just let me know this is okay to do or help me to do it.
"And so we speak to feel a little less neglected" - speaking to a God (not something he would normally do) to try overcome the neglect he's felt living this existence.
"To reach the final chapter and understand the answers that you hide" - again, talking to God. Looking to move on to what's next (afterlife) and try to understand all the stuff God has withheld from us.
"We'll meet the ones we had to leave behind" - meeting people in the afterlife that has previously died.
Given the content of many other Mercenary songs, I don't actually feel like the writer believes in God. This just feels like a desperate plea to one if he exists. In a way that makes his "secret window" - speaking privately to a God he publicly doesn't believe in.
