This Will Never End Lyrics

Once upon a time
No more words to say
Find me in the circle
Find me in the end

I am the soul collector
Dressed in ebony
There are no rules
But only one

There's someone young sister,
Caught at the border
Let's get in contact
He's either yours or mine

I have thought
That this will never end
And things go on
But nothing will last
Only the fool in me believes
There is sence in it
In distant shores of green
It's over now

Far out in space
I ride on
Time is chasing us all
It's not quite how it seems
It's just a dream

I don't believe
In a soul or in god

It's just twisted
Further
You do not understand:

Each single breath inspires you
Come to an end - expire

Rise up my sister
Let's cross the border
Reveal the secret
One more to burn

I have thought
That this will never end
And things go on
But nothing will last
Only the fool in me believes
There is sence in it
In distant shores of green
It's over now

You finally have approached
Still
There is something left to do:
Draw me and prove
Your souls not ripe, yet!
Prepare yourself then wait for me
Expect the day when I come by
You're released now
For a while you may feel
Resurrection
Open your eyes

The vision's bleak
And the color is black
Far Beyond
There's a starving
But dying sun

I have thought
That this will never end
And things go on
But nothing will last
Only the fool in me believes
There is sence in it
In distant shores of green
It's over now

It's about the book "Wild Ride Through the Night" by Walter Moers. It's about a young artist, caught in a storm and dying. When Death claims his soul he bet's that he will pass six tests in exchange for his life.

The song is based on Walter Moers' "Wild Journey Through the Night". There, a boy is supposed to perform tasks for Death, because he has just died but still wants to live on. Besides the alternative of falling into the hands of Death's sister "Dementia" - who is also mentioned in this song - and thus falling into madness, these tasks are the only way to escape Death. With Moers' typical perfect mixture of humour, seriousness and philosophy, the book deals with death, the meaning of life, the end of time and the universe, as well as friendship, love and loss. What the song alludes to most, however, is that the boy is not given any abstruse tasks, as it seemed at first, but that the penultimate one in particular (he was supposed to extract a tooth from the most terrible of all monsters - time) had a deeper meaning. Namely, death was no longer willing to exist and wanted to kill itself, which only works with the tooth of time (note: "The tooth of time" is a German proverb). Death also tells one of the greatest secrets of the universe. Death puts the souls of the dead into soul coffins and sends them to the sun, which serves as fuel for the sun. This is also taken up in the song (note: in my opinion a very interesting and typically Moers approach to explain the meaning of death and the cycle of life philosophically). Even though this is about the song, I can also highly recommend the book on which the song is based.

I think its about a man who doesn't believe in any particular religion, but judgement day rolls around and he realizes that he's kinda fucked.

it's not "One more to burn", it's "One more soul to burn"

Man I just started listening to this song the other day and I'm addicted.

Think of it as a Disney villain song (especially given the source material) that seems to echo the context of "Death be not Proud"
