Sing, Theresa Says Lyrics

Go to sleep while I gather all my things
And I will call you in a couple of days
I can hear the June bugs approaching
A goddamn army of them in my brain

"Sing," Theresa says. "Sing happy things,"
"Sing," Theresa says if I do everything
One day a man will spring worth loving

All of my friends fall from the sky now
Many more than I ever thought I had
Everyone is sharpening up their angles
When all I really want is

"Sing," Theresa says, "Sing happy things,"
"Sing," Theresa says if I do everything
One day a man will spring worth loving

"Sing," Theresa says, "Sing happy things,"
"Sing," Theresa says if I do everything
One day a man will spring worth loving

It's about his nana. He had a dream and she spoke to him and told him to sing of happy things. The june bugs are related to being a young boy and having adventures with a childhood friend.

This song is absolutely beautiful. My favorite line is "one day a man will spring worth loving." It breaks my heart, but I get it. This song is profound. I THINK he's aware of the love that surrounds him, but he still has to find himself, his true confidence.

The entire album is great. Bravo, Greg. All the amazing singer/songwriters are in San Diego. Where the hell am I? Ha ha.

I've listened to him for about 5 minutes total so far. I can only say its a matter of time until he breaks it big.

For me this song represents war and peace. In the first verse he seems to be talking about leaving a loved one packing up and heading for war, and he'll call her in a couple of days. And the June Bugs represent the enemy soldiers as june bugs are found in big groups. The Theresa in this song reminds me of Mother Theresa and how humanity should praise and sing about happy things and if we do man will be worth loving. The friends falling from the sky would be his allies comming down from the planes. And the sharpening of the angles are the soldiers getting prepared taking aim, but all this person wants it peace and happiness and for the violence to stop.
