I think that the music takes the care of lyrics...the use of string instruments takes your mood up and up.

But this is about a possible re-kindling of a romance. Maybe even what to others think of the two of us...depends on the story that is told.

Gli Impermeabili = the raincoats.

The song is part of a trilogy, and it tells us about a man who stems from the generation that is born after World War II. He dreams about achieving great goals, prosperous enterprises, luxury life-style, romantic love, but again and again he backs the wrong horse and he looses again everything. The chorus melody exemplifies this recurring impression of being confronted with a set of difficulties that seem unalterable. Also the chorus stanza "How it rains perfectly on the rain-coats, but not on the soul." describes a more melancholic than hopeful state of mind. But nonetheless the chorus maybe also contains hope.
