Sometimes I Doubt Your Commitment To Sparkle Motion Lyrics
And all those stupid things we buy
Each other when it’s cold outside
A little warmer and we turn to God to make it cold once more
But all those silly things you got me
That won’t even last until the of
January when we start
To hope again for this departure
Please Return so we can get the things
We want and forget about the reason
We are not in school
Getting presents might be cool but
But That is not why we are here
And 5 days later, we’ve forgotten
The man who saved or souls
Cause everybody’s wasted
I’ll change my name cause this is rad
I’ll change my names cause this is rad…
Each other when it’s cold outside
A little warmer and we turn to God to make it cold once more
But all those silly things you got me
That won’t even last until the of
January when we start
To hope again for this departure
Please Return so we can get the things
We want and forget about the reason
We are not in school
Getting presents might be cool but
But That is not why we are here
And 5 days later, we’ve forgotten
The man who saved or souls
Cause everybody’s wasted
I’ll change my name cause this is rad
I’ll change my names cause this is rad…

The title's a Donnie Darko quote, which says it all really. :)
I have no clue what this song is about.. I was attracted by the Donnie Darko quote. :] Ahaha sweet.
It's mos def about how Christmas has lost its meaning. And Donnie Darko. Don't forget Donne Darko.
Yeah this song is definitely about Christmas..
Does anyone know if he's religious?
The line "And 5 days later we've forgotten the man who saved our souls" hints belief in Jesus.
It's very truthful.. the 5 days later when everyone's wasted is talking about New Years (obviously)
I believe that this song is about how we focus on the presents and getting wasted on our Christmas break, and we forget about the real reason we have this time off, and the fact that we should be celebrating the birth of Jesus.
And yes, Androoo, he is very religious.
lol @ the title
the song describes dan's disagreement with consumerism in christmas. people around him are keen for christmas to bring them presents but have forgotten the true meaning of the day, "the reason we're not in school."
"5 days later..." refers to new year's eve, where those around him are already forgetting christmas once again while they get "wasted" on this holiday.
on the whole the song focuses on his christianity, and also hints at his disliking for drug use, a common theme of his.
