I'm Guessing There's A Pill For That Lyrics
Sing songs won’t you sing along into the back room
A thought alone in this world is just like me to disagree
Ever wonder why the animals so narrowly escape manic depression
Put it on my tab
If I paint the sky at the right time
And set it for your eyes to gaze upon
Honey will you see the lights
Will you hold my hand tonight
Last call for alcohol in the loneliest of avenues with no one I know
There’s a medicine for that
There’s a medicine for that
Down to earth on a mattress at a cheap motel
Counting dollar bills and pretending I know her well
There’s a medicine for that
There’s a medicine for that
Sing back the tunes we play
Transistor radios and old board games
I look at the computer and might cry
The fire spreads through the dry grass nearby
We bust grooves like the crippled mausoleum keepers
Wheelchair running from the grim reaper
Printing centerfolds from the school computer
From the school computer
A thought alone in this world is just like me to disagree
Ever wonder why the animals so narrowly escape manic depression
Put it on my tab
And set it for your eyes to gaze upon
Honey will you see the lights
Will you hold my hand tonight
There’s a medicine for that
There’s a medicine for that
Counting dollar bills and pretending I know her well
There’s a medicine for that
There’s a medicine for that
Transistor radios and old board games
I look at the computer and might cry
The fire spreads through the dry grass nearby
Wheelchair running from the grim reaper
Printing centerfolds from the school computer
From the school computer

i think he got drunk or drugged up one day when he was depressed or something because hes alone or something??? wheelchair running from the grim reaper mamo thats my fave line =) they sound like postal service...
Isn't this like a one-man garage band thingy?
yeah the guys name is dan, and he made all this stuff with a few instruments a lap top and his own voice, he's pretty talented.
i think this song is about him out on the road, missing the one he loves, and he's remembering all the times they've had, the ones he specially misses.
"there's a medicine for that" the "medicine" is alcohol, and "that" is his loneliness.
yeah, Zinkle's got a good point. I didn't really even think of it being about that, but it really makes a lot of sense.
But also, the medicine doesn't technically have to be alcohol in all the situations. Maybe it's a play on how many different medications there are available for so many different symptoms a person can feel, so no matter what mood he is in at the moment, he can take some pills and be cured.
i like zwinkle's idea. but doesn't anyone find it weird that the line is 'there's a medicine for that' when the song is titled 'there's a PILL for that'?
this is just my opinion, but i think dan did that purposely, because 'medicine' sounds a lot like 'madison', his girlfriends name. i think that he was going through a lot but then he fell in love and was cured, his 'medicine' being 'madison' :] or i could just be a dramatic romantic :]

PlayFrancesPlay brings up a really good point. I never thought of that.
Isn't Dan straightedge anyway? Why would he be singing about drinking alcohol if he was straightedge?
Dan is straightedge ... NOW. but before, when he was i believe a sophmore, he was getting into alcohol && pot after his father passed away from a heart attack. but then his mom sent him to a place where he could get help and he's been straightedge ever since. he sings about going away in his song 'even fairytale characters would be jealous' i really recommend it :]
This song was written LONG before Madison and Dan got together. It's actually about his drug abusing days and the "medicine" is finding Christ. He talks about being really depressed and turning to drugs and promiscuity and then he says there's a medicine for that. There's a way to stop being that way. Then the song starts talking about a simpler time in his life that he goes back to in order to make him feel better.
Mhmm I love this song.Hits very close to home.
