Death at the Chapel Lyrics
On a night of weddings he decides to change the setting,
And as he feels himself start to sicken,
Oh too late for Jimmy,
Adjusts his goggles as the fog begins to thicken.
Under shadow of the chapel he saw Jimmy run for cover, And pushing down on the accelerator,
Oh too late for Jimmy,
Ducking down as the young man flew over the bonnet.
With a heart as black as coffee he smashed into John and Betty,
Screaming, "No one will ever love you!"
Too late for John and Betty,
And the realisation hit them like a fist,
Like this.
You know what's next for Eddie as he dives behind a pillar,
Looking back on his motorcycle,
Oh too late for Eddie.
Turning around to face the cackle behind him.
And as he feels himself start to sicken,
Oh too late for Jimmy,
Adjusts his goggles as the fog begins to thicken.
Oh too late for Jimmy,
Ducking down as the young man flew over the bonnet.
Screaming, "No one will ever love you!"
Too late for John and Betty,
And the realisation hit them like a fist,
Like this.
Looking back on his motorcycle,
Oh too late for Eddie.
Turning around to face the cackle behind him.

you cant hear a word of this on the record... there really no point in this one being here, still, its a BIG song, man, cant believe no ones commmented it
i love the music in this!
mmmmmm. i'm so glad i randomly discovered the horrors. i friggin love the surfiness, but yet non-surfiness at all in this. hells yeah it is a big song and needs many more comments.
i think the title of this song is pretty much self explanitary. someone gets killed at a chapel. awesome song may i add. it's been on repeat all day :]
the lyrics pretty much explains what the song is about, it's not as if it's some "inside joke" or it's hard to understand. A murderer comes to the chapel and kills a load of people. How they make such a great song out of that I didn't know, but it's an amazing track.
How come this song has exactly the same music as the song "Full Moon" (also by the Horrors), yet different lyrics? Either way, I prefer Death at the Chapel, it's immensely immense, needs more comments!
Also, I just read this article, it seems it isn't that simple. To quote it:
A cast of characters from famous girl group songs falls victim to a murder spree by someone who, says the singer, “is sickened by the idea of perfect love as portrayed in pop songs...Maybe people would think it was some f***ing stupid little story I made up about a guy driving around in a car.”
So there you have it.
the song is probably about a man Jimmy who decides to ruin love,he has a black cold heart, It might be about Jack The Ripper(the white chapel murder) i doubt that though, or a series of unfortionate event that happen at the chapel
this song mihgt be about this guy (jimmy) who is changing his mind about turning up to his wedding because he might love someone else or somethink, "And as he feels himself start to sicken" shows worry or somethink along those lines. + loads of tragic thing happen after ect. I LOVE THE HORRORS!!
