An Ocean Between Lyrics
I find myself so tangled up.
In all of our ideas.
We could run away, get a job.
In a small town on the beach.
We can dream but I can't stay.
It's a small world.
But I'll still sail much too far away.
Could it be, it was destiny?
You and me, an ocean between?
I find myself a bit of a mess.
Life just isn't fair, is it?
I miss the years when we were young,
Innocent and so naïve.
We can dream but I can't stay.
It's a small world.
But I'll still sail much too far away.
Could it be, it was destiny?
You and me, an ocean between?
Pride burns like wildfire.
Smell the smoke rising.
It's the anthem of hell.
In your eyes I saw a hope.
Where you wrote us off as Pharisees.
You were so relieved.
Don't listen to anything these demons have to say.
We're older now and it's time to grow up.
Breathe in, breathe out.
Throw yourself in the sea.
(It's so much bigger than us.)
We can dream but I can't stay.
It's a small world.
But I'll still sail much too far away.
Could it be, it was destiny?
You and me, an ocean between?
Don't listen to anything they have to say.
We're older now and it's time to grow up.
In all of our ideas.

well...i think this song is about a relationship. he wants to be with her but its not possible, and he knows it...so he's not living in a fairytale world...he's just facing the facts. and he's trying to tell her. and in the beggining its kinda making fun of her? or like seeing one of the possiblities but then he just goes back to reality. this is my fave song off their album.
this song is most definatly about a relationship. dan said so himself @ bamboozle. its about leaving someone he loved when he moved to the states from austrailia.
I agree with cuteprov. :)
and this is def my favorite song by TP.
just wanna point out to imthelead that just cause their a Christian band doesnt mean that every single song by them will be Christian.....listen to the music with an open mind
it doesn't have to be a Christian song just because he uses the words "hell", "demons", and "Pharisees".
and yeah; it's most definitely about dan moving to USA. which is weird, because i always thought he moved when he was in elementary or something. (i'm obviously wrong)
i don't think its about a relationship. it has Christian song written all over it.
