Walking On Water Lyrics
Who would I be?
Where would I be going if I didn't have you to shake my face?
Why do you care?
Why do you care so much?
Your love's such a stretch for my faith.
You don't let go easily.
No, you hold onto me tight.
And it's just what I need.
To get me through the storm tonight.
Whoa, I don't have to be afraid of the wind.
And that's good to know.
'Cause I've heard it all before.
But I'm walking on water now.
In the midst of a storm.
My life fell apart and you were right there.
The fire turned my whims into smoke.
I choke on your words that somehow make sense.
And I dance with a joy only found in the pain.
You don't let go easily.
No, you hold onto me tight.
And it's just what I need.
To get me through the storm tonight.
Whoa, I don't have to be afraid of the wind.
And that's good to know.
'Cause I've heard it all before.
But I'm walking on water now.
Whoa, I don't have to be afraid of this sinking ship.
And that's good to know.
'Cause I've heard it all before.
But I'm walking on water now.
Take me away to a heavenly place.
Rescue me my love, my saving grace.
Whoa, I don't have to be afraid of the wind.
And that's good to know.
'Cause I've heard it all before.
But I'm walking on water now.
Whoa, I'm singing in the rain.
Well that's a joy I've never known.
'Cause I've heard it all before.
But I'm walking on water now.

that is so true "He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion..." wow, I really love these lyrics, and I especially love that God never lets me go!
i love this song so much. it just makes me smile.
this is a song about how he has faith in God. in the bible Jesus was walking on water and told peter to come to him. And Peter started to come to him, but he started to sink. And Jesus said you have to have faith, and he started believing, and he started walking on water. And i think thats why this is a song about his faith in God.
I love how this song is on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack!
I don't think its necessarily about god >.< maybe it's all just a comparism. "Take me away to a heavenly place. Rescue me my love, my saving grace." I think it's about a friend or a girl that's always there to help him out, and tells him when he's doing wrong... One of the best off the album, definitely. :)

sorry keziah, but it is about God. This Providence is a Christian band. he's talking about how even when everyone else was gone, and he was going through the worst parts of his life, God was with him through it all. And knowing that God still had faith in him, just made his faith in God that much stronger.

i'm not christian, at all. but they are, and that's what the song is about.

Just because they're a Christian band doesn't mean that every single song by them is about God... I mean they're not one of those Christian bands that are on the Christian music radio stations.

Have you heard "Letdown" or "That Girl's a Trick"? Because I can guarantee you that those aren't about God.

Their self-titled album and Who Are You Now? are both concept albums.

The self-titled is about not having faith/doubting God in the beginning of the album then by the end of the cd, he begins to have faith in God and accepts Him.

Who Are You Now is more about finding yourself. (Hence, the album title...)
