Losing Control Lyrics
I can hear their song from miles away.
It's carried in the wind.
Its melody is sung to me in miracles.
The sun rises over the sea.
When I hear their love song.
I don't understand.
From out beyond the shadows.
I can hear it calling me.
Honestly, if I'm honest with myself.
I've cried myself to sleep.
Crying out, 'Oh God, where are you?
Can you hear my scream way up there.
Through the clouds, in heaven?
Do you even care?'
And honestly if I'm honest with myself.
I hate the song they sing.
It's like salt on an open wound.
But I can't get it out of my head.
This melody kills me.
It's out of key and foolish.
But I think I might just like it.
If I could just get past my pride.
I turn my head and look away.
'Cause you know it hurts to see the light of day.
The whole world hates you.
The whole world hates your song.
Oh God I'm a sinner and I think I wanna sing along.
The whole world hates you.
The whole world hates your song.
And I wanna sing.
I wanna sing along.
Heaven's not so far away.
I can hear its melody from here in the waiting room of hell.
Well heaven's not so far away.
I can hear its melody calling me.
Calling me home.
Honestly, if I'm honest with myself.
I've cried myself to sleep.
Crying out, 'Oh God, where are you?
Can you hear my scream way up there.
Through the clouds, in heaven?
Do you even care?'
And honestly if I'm honest with myself.

It's like salt on an open wound.
But I can't get it out of my head.
And honestly, if I'm honest with myself.
I've cried myself to sleep.
Crying out, 'Oh God, I need you.
Can you hear my prayer way up there.
Through the clouds, in heaven?
Do you even care?'
And honestly, I've never really been honest with myself.
Well this melody heals my wounds.
And I can't get it out of my head.

I think that in this song he is talking about how he is a sinner. And the melody is God calling out to him, and he knows its calling to him, but deep down he wants to live life his own way and not the way God wants us to. And he tells us about how almost everyone is the same way as him and that we need to turn around our lives.
yeah, i think it's about hearing God's calling but he doesn't want to sacrifice reputation and what not. i love the reference too.
'i'm just scared of losing control i'm terrified of who i'll become with you'
same concept in this song. so wonderful. at the end of the CD he decides he's going to turn his life around.
'it called me to give my whole life, well, that's what i'm gonna do.'
i love this band eeeee
i love how this song refrences to 'our flag is white'
Oh yes! I definitely love how the two songs are tied together!
i'm completely into this song. for some reason with all of dan youngs lyrics it's like i totally tell what he's going after or what he's thinking. i also like how two of them are singing.
QUESTION: what do you think it means when he talks about this "song" ???
like...what is this "song" metaphor he's talking about?
When he sings, "The whole world hates you, The whole world hates your song."
When he sings, "The whole world hates you, The whole world hates your song."
I always think of it as how the Christian lifestyle is not the most appealing in our global society. It is, in fact, counter-cultural in a lot of areas in the world. It is also hard to live because of persecution you will receive.

Therefore, the whole world hates it, but he "is a sinner" and realizes that. Therefore, he wants "to sing along."

I think the "song" is the temptation to sin.
The "song" is like God's calling to tell you what to do for the better.
Or, it can just be anything that's good in the long run, but people that aren't into whatever the song is will think you're weird or whatever. ^ I hope the second one made sense XD
OMG love this song soo much. i love this providence
