It's about how he's worried what other people will think of him because of his faith/belief in God. But in the end, he "throws his hands in the air" because it doesn't matter what others say, but at the same time he's still doubting his faith.

I think this song is about the singer (Dan Young) trying to say that he doesnt care what people think and he doesnt want to care what people think and in this world it seems hard to be himself in a changing world.

I do agree that it's about him not caring what people think of him based on his faith, but maybe it goes a little deeper than that- meaning maybe he's talking about not sleeping with anyone until marriage. I don't know, it makes me think that when he says "I won't forfeit my soul for a pretty penny" Thoughts? :P

its not dont it is 'i' so.. 'i wanna drive so hard to get it off my chest' 'i wanna work so hard just to have a heart attack' plus it sounds more like i then dont and it makes more since like why would you not want to drive fast to get something off ur chest that would be bothering you..know what i mean? well it might just be me but thats what i think :)

I think the meaning of this song is presented so blatantly. :P Basically, he's not going to care or give into what people think or say of him.
