Dark City, Dead Man Lyrics

When the streetlights fade.
Warm rain like judgement descends.
Their voice numbs me.
Speaking words in a dead tongue.
I have walked a road that lead me back to you.
From a window our glances met.
My true colours I cannot hide.
The landscape has changed.
You don’t recognise me.
These pictures slowly fade.
Memories wither, they are all gone.
Further down the steps get steeper.
You haunt me in my dreams.
I let go and fall deeper.
This will be the end of me.

I would go as far to say that this is the best doom metal song ever. Lyrically? Maybe not. But there is a word for such masterpieces - Epic. Period.

Three comments and all there of you said absolutely ZERO. Men! OK, before I get to the actual song, if you're gonna write the word "fucking," than at least have the user name of BOINK rather than "poink." I'm guessin' there were some problems in English class:) OK...now for the song....in the morning s/he is judged by another for his/her actions the previous night. The words are hurtful (probably condesending as well). He sees her (someone important to him) but he feels as though she sees through him...she sees all of him (good/bad/ugly) and that is unnerving. She no longer 'recognizes" him (he's changed in her eyes due to his bad actions). The good memories begin to die, replaced with the bad. He's spiraling downward and all that remains of her is in his dreams. (I could be sooo far off, but it's better than what the three bozos above had to offer...cowards:)
