Learning the Hard Way Lyrics
Summer came too early,
Springtime came too late,
Weather went from freezing,
To bleached out summer days,
Held up in your bedroom,
Hiding like two thieves,
Counting up the hours,
For the perfect time to leave.
Woo-hoo,
We’re learning the hard way,
Woo-hoo,
It just don’t matter what they say.
Nighttime through this desert,
Driving straight out west,
Stop for gas and coffee,
Close your eyes for rest.
I wonder what you’re dreaming,
While we’re halfway cross this bridge,
We’ve come too far to turn back,
We’re just too close to quit.
Woo-hoo,
We’re learning the hard way,
Woo-hoo,
It just don’t matter what they say,
Woo-hoo,
We’re learning the hard way,
Woo-hoo,
Woo-hoo,
Held up in your bedroom,
Hiding like two thieves,
Counting up the hours,
For the perfect time to leave,
Woo-hoo,
We’re learning the hard way,
Woo-hoo,
It just don’t matter what they say,
Woo-hoo,
We’re learning the hard way,
Woo-hoo,
Woo-hoo.

This song is sweet i heard them in concert and got the CD. This is one good band i wont forget.
finally, they are back, the blossoms is back dude ! this song is very typical gin blossoms song, but it still sound nice to me. feel sad when i listen to it.
the song to me talking about love (duh!), when everything is too late and they learnt it the hard way coz the broke off. something like that. hehee
no major symbolism.
the song pretty much explains itself.
All of the songs on Major Lodge Victory have a melancholy nostalgic taste except Long Time Gone, Heart Shaped Locket, and Fool for the Taking.
Whenever I hear this song, I think about me and my high school sweetheart.
We were young, spent all of our time together... Every second. But that's not high school, that's no way to live life. We learned the hard way that that is no way to do a relationship.
That feeling of complete... adoration for the other. Feeling of "What's in store in the future?".
I think all those feelings are PERFECTLY displayed in this song. But hey, that's just me.
Awesome, awesome song.
