This song is about someone finding the person who they thought was "the right one" but it turns out they weren't. And the guy who is talking is having a hard time coping with the break.

I saw it as him thinking he has a bad habit like drugs or something. and thinking he's in control of it. but it all goes bad and the world around him crashes.

It's about being caught up in a dream in which everything will stay fine and everything won't change and everything is okay...when things just don't work like that. "Everybody's changing / Oh, everybody's changing / And I don't know how much more I can take" explains that change is so overwhelming and it's a slap in the face. Once the realization occurs, it takes from there, everything else changes, and you're left with something completely different. And it sucks ass.

I don't think I'd grow up to have a song written so closely about me. Damn.

this song relates to a lot of people because it can be taken in so many different ways.

about a year ago this song was a perfect description of how i felt. i love how they describe life as a card house, with no regard for the wind. i had to go through with everybody changing, but i've made it past all that, we all can. :)

I think it's about how he thought he was in control and his life was beautiful, but it turns out he couldn't do it alone, that he needed God. I mean: it's a hope where there's no chance of a hope in the world that I'm hoping for. "The world that I'm hoping for" is heaven. He's saying he can't do it alone, because he tried and it just all fell apart. Sorry if I repeated myself at all.
