Under the Wire Lyrics

I need to feel redeemed
I'm going sideways down
An ever-winding road
With an ever inviting node
Of a one-track mind
Of a love that's lost somehow
Of a flashing sign
I'm under the wire now

Under the wire
I'm a train down the line
Nothing left to lose or gain
But distance over time
Under the wire
Over all that we've been through
Tell me what to do
To get to you

I need to feel the breeze
Of a new day's dawn
I need to be released
From the cold steel rail I'm on

Shake the love for a woman
Break emotion overdrive
Take a train to oblivion
At the crossing of our lives

Under the wire
I'm a train down the line
Nothing left to lose or gain
But distance over time
Under the wire
Over all that we've been through
Tell me what to do
To get to you

I need to feel redeemed
I wear my heart on a crying sleeve
I bear the pressure of oil and moving steam
Unaware if I'm gaining speed
I'm prepared to move ahead
Take me

Under the wire
I'm a train down the line
Nothing left to lose or gain
But distance over time
Under the wire
Over all that we've been through
Tell me what to do
To get to you

I am a steel freight train
I hand my train-wrecked heart
Back to you

Cover art for Under the Wire lyrics by Carbon Leaf

ok, so this song is about a man and a woman, and their relationship.

He is the train, and the railroad he's travelling on is their relationship (over all that we've been through), and he's trying to get to the woman, who is at the end of the line .

The only thing that matters to the man anymore is her (Nothing left to lose or gain, but distance over time)

Well, that's my interpretation of the song. I'm wondering if this song has a connection with love, loss, hope, repeat, because it mentions a train line in that song too.

Just a few errors i noticed - "A never unbinding load" not "An ever inviting node" "Unaware of my gain in speed" not "Unaware if i'm gaining speed" "I am a train wreck, haulin' back to you" not "I hand my train-wrecked heart back to you"
