Tears of the Saints Lyrics
There are many prodigal songs
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People's hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures
This is an emergency
There are tears from the saints
For the lost and unsaved
We're crying for them come back home
We're crying for them come back home
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
There are schools full of hatred
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In this state of desperation
For Your glory
This is an emergency
Sinner, reach out your hands
Children in Christ you stand
Sinner, reach out your hands
Children in Christ you stand
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
On our city streets they run
Searching for shelter
There are homes broken down
People's hopes have fallen to the ground
From failures
For the lost and unsaved
We're crying for them come back home
We're crying for them come back home
And all Your children will stretch out their hands
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home
Even churches have forsaken
Love and mercy
May we see this generation
In this state of desperation
For Your glory
Children in Christ you stand
Sinner, reach out your hands
Children in Christ you stand
And pick up the crippled man
Father, we will lead them home
Father, we will lead them home

Oh danggg, I love this song so much. And it has such a great meaning, Leeland said it was about how Jesus misses the people that have left Him. It's just... so great.
I know! and when it says the Your children will reach out their hands, and pick up the crippled man...AHH! I want to be that person!!!!
This is my favorite song I can't get enough of it.
oh and its prodigal sons, referring to teh prodigal son in the bible whose father greeted him with open arms.
This is such a great song! I just love it.
this song definately has direct meaning... it's about all of the people that do not know Christ... {there are tears from the saints for the LOST AND UNSAVED}
in this song it is saying that we, being Christians, should lead the sinners to Him so that they can be saved...
it's such a great song
I saw Leeland live the other week and this song stood out from the whole concert.
This song inspires me to go and help those who really need it. That is what Leeland is really talking about here. To think that a 19 y/o (i think that is how old Leeland Morring is) wrote this, he writes wit ha wisdom way beyond his years, for those of you who know who Michael W. Smith is, Michael W. Smith says he finds himself singing Leeland songs throughout the day...
I'd just like to say that just because I'm not a christian, nor religious for that matter, doesn't mean that I'm a sinner. I've followed basic rules of right and wrong by society.. I've done my part to help the needy and less provided for, but for the sole fact that I don't worship your "god", your deity or higher power doesn't mean that I'm a bad person...given that everyone has "sinned" doesn't meant that I'm a "sinner", I've righted my wrongs and corrected myself as much as needed, so where is the wrong...because I don't believe in something you do? Tell my why I'm a bad person for not believe in such a thing?
By the way, not only religious people like this song...
KitRictor, unfortunately, just because you do good things, it doesnt exempt you from being a sinner. Every single person on this planet is a sinner. The Christians and Non-christians are all sinners. Just because you dont believe in our God as you call it, doesnt mean you are not a sinner. There is a verse in the bible that says "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." It doesnt say just the people who dont believe in me fall short of my glory, it says EVERYBODY has sinned. Just because you may follow the law all of the time doesnt mean your not a sinner. Everytime you lie or cheat or anything like that, its a sin. Im not condeming you for sinning. Everybody sins. And it doesnt make you just a bad person for believing what you believe. Hope that helps.
Great song though. Really touches me every time i listen to it.
heard leeland sing this song at aquire the fire in houston, amazing! great worship song!
