I don't know sorry, but I do know I love Cher's version anyway, I didnt like it the first few times I heard it but it has grown on me, I think most of us can kinda relate to it a bit being shot down.....

I thought this song was pretty cheesy when I first heard it,but then I saw the lyrics and listened to it more often until I started to,God forbid,like it.

No.. This song is about two people who played together as children. The He is this song liked playing but didnt find anything with it. The Girl Loved him but he didnt love her.
FYI Cher actually did two versions of this song. One she did back in the late 60s/early 70s, and then she did an updated version in the 80s. Personally I prefer the 80s version; it sounds so much darker and fits the lyrics quite well.
