Northline Lyrics

We'd meet before work
skin headed girl
that i used to sleep with
i know it ain't right
but her scarred up white legs
and it was her boyfriends belief
well i believe
in her bloodshot blue eyes
her bloodshot blue eyes

northline
asleep somewhere in the back of a montey carlo
her letters turn to postcards and they never appear
northline

now there's a mexican radio station
that gullops through the wall
and letters lay on the floor
signed with hearts and drawn ...
maybe he way just adding weight
to her broken back
maybe he was just adding weight
to an already broken back
my justification seemed clear
she was lost
and isolation is my biggest fear

northline
asleep somewhere in the back of a money ....
her letters turn to postcards and they never appear
northline

Cover art for Northline lyrics by Richmond Fontaine

"Boyfriend's Belif" not belive "Asleep some where in the back of a Montey Carlo" Which is some movie director i think.

I think this one is about a girl he knows on junk or some other drug I dont know. Which had started from her boyfriend. Even though he used to sleep with her, they were still friends - so they hung out and watched movies. The writer thinks perhaps, she still likes him - and that the boyfriend only made matters worse for her. He has nearly, or has, lost touch of her. Northline seems like a place or the movie theatre.

Its such a good song - I love the imagery. In a whole, the song is about, "a friend he couldn't help"?

It is a book... Willy Vlautin's second novel, Northline
