Goodbye Lyrics
Yeah, I got this thinkin' in my head
Yeah, you wanna say the things not said
Whats the reason?
Don't really care if you leave
Just wanna see you beaten
Don't really care if you grieve
Don't really need a reason
Hey, goodbye
I wish you stayed here
I wish you were here
Yeah, I got this feelin' in my veins
Yeah, a helpless feeling mixed with pain
What's the meaning?
I just can't believe
that you're not really with me
I just can't believe
I wonder if you'll miss me
Hey, goodbye
I wish you stayed here
I wish you were here
Yeah, you wanna say the things not said
Just wanna see you beaten
Don't really care if you grieve
Don't really need a reason
I wish you stayed here
I wish you were here
Yeah, a helpless feeling mixed with pain
that you're not really with me
I just can't believe
I wonder if you'll miss me
I wish you stayed here
I wish you were here

This is the best chorus i've ever heard.
BETTER THAN ANYTHING EVER
I CANNOT WAIT FOR AN ALBUM! ITS GOING TO BE SOOOOOOOOOOOO AMAZING!!!
About damn time I get to hear more amazing riffs from the DeLeo brothers... its been way too long since STP split.
I think it means that a friend/girlfriend is leaving and he's know and at first he was really going to miss her, but she changed and they became not as close. That's why he's saying goodbye for her. He misses her and likes the old her, but not the new one now that shes been gone and wants to get on with his life and see other people.
This song kicks man! KICKS! Luzier is tight on the drums in this.
I think it's about an attachment of some sort to somebody. Doesn't necessarily have to be about a girlfriend. (Just my ¢ .2
It's meant to be an open-ended song about loss in general. The first verse sounds more like a breakup and the second verse sounds more like a death or unintended separation. It's just an anthem for saying Goodbye. It's simple, to-the-point, and covers all bases.
This really is the best chorus ever.
Good to hear some old school STP guitar stuff. I hope these guys succeed.
the chorus is bangin'
It's definitely about kicking something to the curb. Open-ended just like others have said, but there's definitely this bitter-sweet vibe to it. Ultimately, the person moves on, but still wonders about if it/they stayed around in their life.
And yeah, it sounds awesome. Heard this single on the radio one day and I knew I wanted more. I bought the album and glad I did. Worth every penny. Great mix of talent here. Hope they make it out to my area someday for a show. :)
