In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning Lyrics
In the wee small hours of the morning
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake and think about the girl
And never ever think of counting sheep
When your lonely heart has learned its lesson
You'd be hers if only she would call
In the wee small hours of the morning
That's the time you miss her most of all
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
You lie awake and think about the girl
And never ever think of counting sheep
You'd be hers if only she would call
In the wee small hours of the morning
That's the time you miss her most of all

Written by Mann and Hilliard, Sting sings this on Chris Botti’s “Slowing Down the World” and “Night Sessions: Live in Concert”. I’ve always liked the Carly Simon version, done as a duet with Sinatra while he sings “One More For My Baby and One More For the Road”. My favorite lines are “When your lonely heart has learned its lesson—you’d be his if only he would call.” Actually I haven’t heard the Sting/Botti version yet.
Written by Brian Wilson, Sting sings this with Lulu on her “Together” cd from 2002.
Oops! That doesn't belong here. Too bad there isn't an edit on comments for airheads like me ....
