I packed a cooler and a change of clothes
Let's jump and see how far it goes
You got my heart and your daddy's boat
We got all night to make it float
We could sit on the shore
We could just be friends
Or we could jump in...
Whole world could change in a minute
Just one kiss could stop it's spinning
We could think it through
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
We could keep things just the same
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
I got your ring around my neck
And a couple of nights I don't regret
You got a dream of a degree
And a shirt that smells like me
Yeah, we both got dreams
We could chase alone
Or we could make our own
Whole world could change in a minute
Just one kiss could stop it's spinning
We could think it through
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
We could keep things just the same
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
Never waste another day
Wondering what you threw away
Holding me, holding you
I don't want to, if you don't want to
We could keep things just the same
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
Lord, I want to
I want you
Let's jump and see how far it goes
You got my heart and your daddy's boat
We got all night to make it float
We could sit on the shore
We could just be friends
Or we could jump in...
Just one kiss could stop it's spinning
We could think it through
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
We could keep things just the same
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
And a couple of nights I don't regret
You got a dream of a degree
And a shirt that smells like me
Yeah, we both got dreams
We could chase alone
Or we could make our own
Just one kiss could stop it's spinning
We could think it through
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
We could keep things just the same
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
Wondering what you threw away
Holding me, holding you
I don't want to, if you don't want to
Leave here the way we came
With nothing to lose
But I don't want to, if you don't want to
Lord, I want to
I want you

This song seems like it's about a guy and girl who are "just friends". The girl has a thing for the guy and she thinks they should at least give it a shot. But she doesn't want to make the move if he doesn't want to.
This song is about friends who have an unexpected romatic weekend together and have to decide to stay friends or try to have a relationship
I love thisss songg.
It looks like its about a girl who has a fling on vacation or something and realizes that she loves him. I'm not sure about the ending if she stayed or not. Any takers?
WHY DOES NO ONE POST ON THESE GUYS? THEY"RE AWESOME!
This song portrays exactly the situation that I am in now. Right down to the fact that I know just one kiss could change everything. It's all about liking someone whom you are friends with and wanting more than friendship but only if they want it too. You care about the other person so much that you only want what they want.
I agree with Fabes, this song is about wanting to be with someone, yet knowing it will change the friendship into a relationship, and she's not sure if she wants to take that step - Afterall, what if it goes badly?
i love this song....Sugarland is the greatest ♥
I think this song is about a relationship and not a friendship. The couple are in a not so serious relationship, maybe friends with benefits and they are both headed in different directions. I think that she realizes how much she really cares for him, and in spite of the fact that they are headed to different parts of their life, she is telling him that things don't have to end. They can start a life together, instead of leaving things the way they are. "we could keep things just the same, leave here the way we came, with nothing to lose."
I also think this song does a great job at expressing how hard it is to tell someone you care for them... you don't know if they will feel the same way you do, and because of that, you're always leaving the ball in their court "i don't want to, if you don't want too..."
fabes is dead on. i went to the kenny chesney concert [[april 12 '07 OMAHA, NEBRASKA]] and sugarland was one of the opening acts for him. before the song, jennifer nettles said that this was about being scared to make the first move.
