Meaning in the Static Lyrics
Strings of numbers in the black
Solutions false to send me back
If only I could only do the math
(there is no escape)
Tell me secrets with white noise
If I could single out a voice
maybe the past would all make sense
(there is no meaning)
A pattern there
a sequence here
there's something that I lack
The answer's there, but the end is near and there's no turning back
(Chorus)
There's meaning in the static
and I need to believe
that if there's an end
I'm planning my escape.
Turn the volume up to ten
The signal's there it's just hiding
Beware the monsters at the end
(there is no escape)
I'll place this purpose in the void
Something to block out the white noise Quick now, my time is running out (There is no meaning)
They've caught my scent
they're on my heels
this city's closing in
I'm leaving town, I'm reaching out
but all I grasp is air.
(Chorus 2X)
I hear voices in the darkness
Waiting, listen,
hey're comingto tell me
They don't answer now
(Chorus 2X)
I hear voices...

this song reminds me of the move White Noise, its meaning is probably something of the sort, like something trying to get him from the afterlife or something. anyway i know this band is very unknown currently but they are really good, they will probably shoot into fame like Aiden did because they rock
Yeah this song sounds like it can be some horror flick and he's trying to escape from "the voices".
On The Last Day is good, but the songs aren't deep, they more have a story to tell.. "A Welcome Haunting" seems, to me, the deepest song by them, because it's about his friends dying. Oh well. Lucky they're good sounding. Haha.
On The Last Day on their website said "This song is one of the surviving themes; it's about searching blindly for meaning where there maybe isn't any. It's about being terrified of nothingness at the end, and looking for an escape."
I kinda see this in the song but mostly im basing this off of Megan etf comment above. If it is about 'being terrified of nothingness at the end, and looking for an escape' then is it possibly about being afraid that there isn't a god and that we are reading to much into life and that there isn't a purpose? That we are simply trying to find a way that our pointless lives actually have meaning.
