Agadoo Lyrics

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki
Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele
And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway
She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

And down on the shore they gather romance
She showed me much more, not only to dance...

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to

I can't believe nobody has commented on the meaning of this song. It is obviously a love ballad, written by a coconut. How can anybody miss the not so well hidden meanings to these beautiful lyrics. "I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay"

Written by a misguided coconut who fell in love with a pineapple. He tried to shake the tree, but to no avail.

Yeah, the meaning is well hidden but you`ve found it alright. Although, a little cryptic, this song bridges interracial love. Yes, it talks of pineapples and coconuts . but its much the same for say an black african and a white european. Clearly the artists strive to make the world a harmonious place and had that in mind when they named the band. (lace normally being white).. i only disapointed they havent followed up with the theme, Maybe cross-polenating flowers or something?
Come on lace... lets have another !

Oh, A PINEAPPLE AND A COCONUT? O_o Yes, I see it know, but it's bloody weird. But If you've seen the music video, you may think different (Sarch for it on stage6.com). Hmmm, weird, but good.
