Way on down to Southern Alabama
With the guitars jamming
That's where we're headed
Straight up to Butte, Montana

Singin' "Lord, I was born a ramblin' man"
California to Oregon
Even New York City
Got one or two hillbillies
Ready to hit the road

It's a brother and a sister kind of thing
Raise up your hands if you all wanna hang with
Me and my gang
We live to ride, we ride to live

Me and my gang
Jump on that train
Grab hold of them reins
We're gonna rock this thing

Cock this thing
Me and my gang, yeah
Yeah, me and my gang

We got hippies, gypsies, freaks and geeks
High class women in daisy duke denim
Bangin' on gongs and singing our songs
Dude named Elrock jammin' on an I-Pod

Beer and bonfires
Wide open throttle, Coors in a bottle
It's all for one and one for all, y'all

It's a brother and a sister kind of thing
Raise up your hands if you all wanna hang with
Me and my gang
We live to ride, we ride to live
Me and my gang

Jump on that train
Grab hold of them reins
We're gonna rock this thing
Cock this thing
Me and my gang, yeah, woo!

It's a brother and a sister kind of thing
Raise up your hands if you all wanna hang
With me and my gang
We live to ride, we ride to live

Me and my gang
Jump on that train
Grab hold of them reins
We're gonna rock this thing

Cock this thing
Yeah

Yeah, me and my gang
Jump on that train
Woo!
Grab hold of them reins, baby

This is about letting loose and having fun. They aren't being discriminating, they just want to live life to its fullest.

well said, moonlight. can't believe these guys have any fans. how can you sing about "me and my gang" when you're just a rich prick. the worst part is that they actually make millions singing this bullshit.

watching rascal flatts perform this in front of a live crowd, (who were all singing the lyrics back to the band and dancing around) made me lose ALL faith in the human race.

whatever it is, cancer, AIDS, terrorism, anything....I hope the end comes soon.

I find it funny how you fucktards are looking at songs you hate and commenting about them. If you don't like it, keep it to yourself and move on. Some of us actually LIKE decent non-hip-hop-or-rap bullshit.

I think this song is one you can blast when you have your closest friends with you. I always imagine my 3 buddies riding in a car with me and all of us going on a long trip across the states just enjoying life to the max and worrying about nothing else.

This song seems to be talking about their travels around the world, and the importance of family " It's a brother and sister kind of thing can be taken in many different ways.

    1. Close ness to where the brother is over protective and also the brother threatening the boyfriend
    2. The sister has a boyfriend but the sister is into her brother. And the brother is telling the boyfriend you take it or leave it thats how it is.
    3. The brother is having inappropriate feeling for his sister 4 The brother and sister are having incest.

I think the real meaning of this song is about the band traveling one of them obviously has a sister and she is close to her brother he's a little bit over protective and of course "it's a brother and sister kind of thing" Meaning Close ness to where the brother is over protective and also the brother threatening the boyfriend "Cock this thing" Refers to a revolver pistol or other type of gun so it means you treat my sister right or I'll hurt you/Kill you!

Corpse I Fell In Love With
Gadjits, The
He reuses the verse melody from the previous album's "Dirty Little Religion", the topics of the verses are all over the place, and he packs too many words into one line (goes to show...) and too few in another (it's pretty hard to find), and rhymes "Henley Regatta" with "Persona non grata", but gets away with it all as only he could.

The Spy
Doors, The
Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.
