Breaking Up Lyrics

A handful of sand
Is all that you grab
as you've watched the money fall
Right through your hands
It took such a long, long time now
To build on demand
But this is war in the cradle of
This modern man

Does this mean we're breaking up
Like stones again

A mouthful of glass
That cuts up your words
You better watch that nothing's falling out
Watching nothing is heard

Does this mean we're breaking up
Like stones again

It took a long, long, long, long time
To reverse, like a curse
It took a long, long, long, long time
A long, long, long, long time

And these are the words in the pages of
And this is the law of unspoken love
And this is a was in the cradle of
This modern man

Does this mean we're breaking up
Like stones again

I agree saki, his voice does sound really good in this song.

Nothing really to add - this song is fantastic, a great Aussie band that should have won the Triple J Hottest 100 2006!

Yeah. If only I kinew what it meant. I'm thinking it has to do with regret and that the feeling of breaking up is new to you.

I'm just gonna leave a comment saying how much this song rocks so why are there only 4 comments?? Sad. I think it has something to do with how his gf has changed and its sora her fault that they are breaking up (again) so this thing has happened before... Yeah I don't really know :)

A mouthful of glass That cuts up your words You better watch that nothing's falling out Watching nothing is heard - - - This album is amazing. These guys are great and are not exposed as they should be yet. I'll comment on the aforementioned section however. I think when he's saying ( A mouthful of glass; that cuts up your words ) he could really be referring to two different things. First scenario he's saying her mouth is full of harsh words and nothing else but harsh words and these words are hurtful. She should make sure nothing falls out as in she should make sure she doesn't degrade herself more than she already has; plus he'd rather hear these things from people rather than having to see it in his own eyes and to his face. Comments anyone?
