Walk me out by the water's edge
Oh my brother, I'm coming down
We are young, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
And I don't know who was right
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot describe
Walk my out in the morning sun
Oh sweet momma I'm coming down
We are you, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
And I don't know who was right
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot describe
It's clear to me, you're like
The oceans and light
Shine and you will remember what you used to feel
It's clear to me this day
I'll take you for a ride
Place that you must have long been
Buried in
And I don't know who was right
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot
Words...
Walk me out by the water's edge
Oh my brother, I'm coming down
We are young, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
And the man keeps coming
Oh my brother, I'm coming down
We are young, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot describe
Oh sweet momma I'm coming down
We are you, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot describe
The oceans and light
Shine and you will remember what you used to feel
It's clear to me this day
I'll take you for a ride
Place that you must have long been
Buried in
Or what they saw in you that night
But here we are in dawning light
And words cannot
Words...
Oh my brother, I'm coming down
We are young, we are almost there
And the man keeps coming round
And the man keeps coming

this song always reminds me of a girl who grew up next door to me. she moved away last year after 17 some years. we lived on a lake and every time we were alone on the beach, something would interrupt us (usually her dad or one of her friends) and she'd go inside, leaving me alone for the rest of the night. i never really got the chance to tell her how much she meant to me. this song illustrates that entire scene so vividly that the first time i heard it, i was choking back tears. love it.
i love this song. one of my favorite yorn songs.
I'm pretty sure "in dawning light" is "under moonlight" and possibly "in the moonlight" on the second time.. could be wrong!
Who is the female back-up singer in this song??
Romanza - it is Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks =)
Think you might be right about that... just waiting for the CD to turn up instead of the Westerns EP.
this one and For Us are my favorites on the latest album. Yorn is musical genius and being a huge dixie chicks fan as well, I was excited to find out Maines did backup vocals and that Yorn helped them on their latest album! Nothing better than talented collaborations!!!
my favourite song
THIS has been my favourite song ever since i first heard it. "But here we are in dawning light"- weird. I always thought it was But here we are "in the moonlight" atleast its what ive always heard. I think moonlight sounds better anyway!
the man may not neccessarily be somebody. im thinking it as being more of god toying with our fates, how something always seem to get in the way 2 potential people, god keeps coming around.
